DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL – HALF DAY CITY TOUR
Welcome to Hanoi, you will be collected by our local guide at Hanoi Airport and transferred to the hotel for early check-in. The room is at your disposal from that time, as well as breakfast.
Take rest the whole morning and be ready for the city tour in afternoon.
13.45: Tour guide and limousine pick up at your hotel and start to discover Hanoi City.
14.00-14.15: Visit Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam, The Temple of Literature (Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam) is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Northern Vietnam. The Temple of Literature was founded in 1070.
15.15: Keep going to visit Hoa Lo Prison, the prison was built by the French, from 1886 to 1901, when Vietnam was still a part of French Indochina. The French called the prison Maison Centrale. The prison was called “A Hell on Earth” and now the prison is like a war museum for those who want to understand more about the war against France of Vietnamese people.
16.30: Enjoy 1-hour cyclo around the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. This is another interesting point of view letting you catch scenes of daily life of city, traders, small restaurants, sidewalks… They are a feast for eyes (dazzled by all these colors), nose (surprised by the spicy flavors of Asia) and ears (to whom are not used to noise and Vietnamese language)…
After the show, our bus takes you back to the hotel.
Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 2: HOA LU – TRANG AN (B/L)
7:30 Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel. We take you to Ninh Binh province which is far from Hanoi city about 1 hour.
9:30 Have a short break for 20 minutes to relax.
10:30 The first destination in this trip is visit Hoa Lu ancient capital. This is the first capital of Vietnam. Come to visit Hoa Lu, you will learn about why the capital was moved to Hanoi nowadays. You are impressed on an outstanding architecture when entering temples of King Dinh and King Le, the first and second emperors of ancient Vietnam, built in the 17 century. Try to feel ancient atmospheres in Hoa Lu ancient capital.
11:45 Have buffet lunch in the restaurant with a lot of local foods goat meat, fried rice… Vegetarian food is always available in the buffet lunch.
13:00 Visit Trang An which was recognized by UNESCO as The world Heritage Site in 2014. Trang An has the wonderful tunnel cave system so that Kong’s Movie Group chose this place for New Version of Kong in 2016 – “ Skull Island “. Boat trip to visit Trang An to see the amazing beauty of this landscape with many caves such as : Sang Cave (Light Cave), Toi Cave (Dack cave), Nau Ruou Cave (Cooking Wine), green river and natural view.
15:30 Get on the bus to go to Mua Cave (Dancing Cave). Walk up almost 500 steps, you can reach to the top of Lying Dragon Moutain, have an amazing panoramic view of Tam Coc from here.
16:30– 17:00 Get on the Bus to return to Hanoi.
19:30 Arrive to Hanoi and get drop off at the Hotel.
Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: HANOI – HALONG BAY – SHUTTLE BUS (B/L/D)
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Ha Long Bay. On the way, you will see some rural areas of the Red River Delta with plenty of chances to take photos of Vietnamese farmers working in paddy fields.
Stop half way to visit a handicraft workshop of fine clothes and embroidered paintings. Arrive in Ha Long City at 11:30 AM and check in aboard the booked junk right after the welcome drink is served.
Start cruising while having lunch on board and enjoy the mighty bay view. Ha Long Bay meaning Descending Dragon Bay in Vietnamese as legend has it that it was where a holly dragon landed down from sky. The bay, famous as one of the world’s wonders and heritage sites whose formation dates back 500 million years, consists of around 2,000 karst islands and islets scattered over an area of 1,553 km2. Relax to enjoy the bay view at sunset, have dinner after, go fishing at 09:00 PM and spend a night on board.
DAY 4: HALONG – HANOI (B/BR)
In the morning, refresh your body and mind with a Tai Chi exercise on the sundeck at the break of dawn. Have tea and coffee onboard and continue exploring Ha Long Bay sailing across its 2000 islets and visiting some of its major highlights. Normally, check out at 09:30, have a buffet brunch while cruising back to shore. Disembark at 11:00 AM and transfer back to Hanoi.
DAY 5: HANOI DEPARTURE (B)
On this day, you are free at your leisure until being transferred to the airport for the departure flight. The room is at your disposal until noon.
